Where is Cut Above?

Cut Above is on Schutt Road Ext in Middletown, NY 10940, on the east side of the city where Schutt Road meets the Route 211 corridor. From downtown Middletown it is about a six minute drive out Wisner Avenue and Route 211. That puts us inside the Town of Wallkill line for a lot of our neighbors, and within twenty minutes of most of central Orange County.

We are an Aveda Concept salon and spa, so one trip can cover color, a cut, an Aveda treatment, a facial, a massage or a wax. Guests who drive in from the towns below often stack two services into one visit for exactly that reason. The drive times on this page are typical daytime estimates from the salon by car, rounded, not promises. Traffic on Route 17 and Route 211 changes them.

Town of Wallkill, around the salon

  • Middletown: our home city. Most guests come out Wisner Avenue or Route 211, about six minutes from downtown.
  • Mechanicstown: Schutt Road runs right through Mechanicstown, so for most of the hamlet we are a five minute drive without getting on a highway.
  • Scotchtown: south and east of the city line in the Town of Wallkill. Route 211 is the easy way in, about ten minutes.
  • Washington Heights: north of the city in the Town of Wallkill. Come down Route 17M to County Route 67, about twelve minutes.
  • Howells: out Route 211 on the western side of the Town of Wallkill, ZIP 10932. Route 211 to 17M brings you to us in about twelve minutes.
  • Circleville: up on Route 302 northeast of the city. Take 302 down to Route 17 and you are here in about twelve minutes.

Wawayanda and Minisink, down Route 6

  • New Hampton: just south of us in the Town of Wawayanda. Route 6 to Dolsontown Road makes it one of our shortest drives, under ten minutes.
  • Slate Hill: further out Route 6 in Wawayanda, about eleven minutes, with Dolsontown Road as the last stretch.
  • Ridgebury: the Wawayanda hamlet up on Ridgebury Hill Road. Ridgebury Hill Road down to Route 6 runs about fifteen minutes.
  • Johnson: a hamlet in the Town of Minisink near Route 284, ZIP 10933. Route 284 to Route 6 gets you here in about seventeen minutes.

Goshen, east on Route 17

  • Goshen: the county seat, a straight run west on Route 17 from the Route 17A exit, about twelve minutes from the village.
  • Howell: the Howell area of the Town of Goshen. Same drive as the village, Route 17A to Route 17, about twelve minutes.

Mount Hope and Otisville, to the west

  • Mount Hope: the town in the hills west of the city. County Route 11 down to County Route 67 is the usual way in, closer to twenty minutes.
  • Otisville: the village inside the Town of Mount Hope. Route 211 east into Middletown, then 17M, brings you here in about eighteen minutes.
