How Is a Men's Cut Built, Section by Section?

Before anything gets cut, we look at your crown and hairline for cowlicks and growth direction. A swirl at the crown decides how short the top can go before it starts to stick up.

For clipper work we start longer and go shorter, blending each guard length into the next. You won't get a hard line unless you ask for one. Scissor work on top gets checked from the side and from behind. Then we pick your neckline with you: tapered, squared or rounded. A tapered neckline grows out softer, so it's the easy choice if you stretch time between cuts. If you wear a beard, we blend the sideburns into it so the cut and beard read as one shape. Last, we put in the product we'd use, in the amount you'd use. You see it in the mirror the way you'll see it at home.

What Keeps a Fade or Scissor Cut Looking Fresh?

Fades and tight sides show growth first, because a little regrowth is easy to spot against skin. Longer scissor cuts lose their shape more slowly. Between visits, don't trim your own neckline unless you can follow the line we left. A neckline pushed too high is the hardest thing for us to fix.

Pick a shampoo for your scalp. If yours gets oily fast, Rosemary Mint Purifying Shampoo is one we reach for. Use less product than you think, and work it from the back to the front. When you rebook, tell us what bugged you, like a piece that stuck up or a side that grew out fast.

How often should I get a men's haircut?

Shorter cuts hold shape 3 to 5 weeks. Mid-length cuts go 5 to 7 weeks. Beards usually trim every 2 to 3 weeks.

Do you do beard work?

Beard trims and shaping yes. We do not currently offer hot-towel straight razor shaves.

Can you cut thinning hair so it looks fuller?

Yes. Strategic cutting + product choice + styling angle all play a part. Tell us about thinning at the consult.

Do you cut kids' hair too?

Yes. Children's Haircuts are a separate service on the menu. Calm, fast, kind.
